Ava Hill from the Mohawk Wolf Clan, is the Chief of the Six Nations of the Grand River Reserve, the largest reserve population wise in Canada. She is one of 40 female Chiefs out of 133 in Ontario.
She is currently in her second term as Chief and prior to that served three terms as Councillor. Chief Hill has extensive experience working with many First Nations and Aboriginal organizations locally, regionally and nationally. She served as the Executive Director of the Chiefs of the Ontario Office, the Executive Assistant to a former National Chief of the Assembly of the First Nations and the Executive Assistant to the Co-Chair of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples.
Chief Hill’s compassion for her people and her dedication to her community were tangible throughout our conversation. Here is Chief Hill.
