Allana Davis is the owner of MakeupLady, a stylish boutique salon specializing in hair, skin and makeup. She started as a mobile business and within three years had a storefront in Yorkville, a trendy area of Toronto. Life wasn’t always easy for Allana who at the age of 16, was on social assistance and lived in government housing.
Allana wanted to tell her story so that others who are struggling as she did in her teens, might be inspired. As for her success, she credits her street smarts and the incredible people who were role models including the ones who like her, were trying to get out of the circle of poverty.
